To:   All University Professors, Law Students, Public and Community Service Majors

New Vision Organization, Inc. is an upcoming non-profit Organization, which advocates for prisoners,
their families and the communities.  Our current goals are to provide extensive services and
networking that will involve members from the communities, Lawyers, Law Students, Human Service
Workers/Students, Ex-incarcerated and currently incarcerated prisoners working together in unity for
enhancement of family reunification, harmonious environment and ultimately, elimination of crime. I
have always believed that God created all things to His Perfection. Therefore, if it breaks, it is our
responsibility as a whole, to fix it.

We are working towards stability for prisoners and/or their families, rehabilitation, educational and
vocational training, parenting skills to prisoners and/or their families, Psychological Treatment and
emotional support to currently incarcerated, ex-incarcerated and/or their families.

We are encouraging and inviting all interested Lawyers, Law Students and Students majoring in Public
and Community Services to work with us in this uniquely, challenging but advantageous endeavor to
decrease and/or eliminate crime and bring about positive changes for everyone involved.  It can be
done if we work in unity.

New Vision Organization's staff are also requesting, As a Student Work Study Program, that
participating students be allowed to receive College Credits for their involvement.  We will be offering
Annual Distinguished, Service Awards in addition to other Achievement Awards based on
performances.

We, at New Vision Organization, Inc. thank you and we look forward to hearing from, and working with
you.

Respectfully

Leonna A. Brandao

The Mission Statement

New Vision Organization, Inc.
is to advocate for consistency within prisons nationwide. To improve the quality and availability of
prevention treatment, and rehabilitation services in order to reduce illness, death, disability, and cost to society resulting from substance
abuse, mental health illnesses and recidivism. Releases from jails and prisons, bring with it a host of individual and systematic barriers to
accessing appropriate services. Unfortunately there are not enough appropriate community based treatment services to support and
accommodate the number of people who are being release.  There is an emphasize on the importance of services, integration, outreach
and engagement: the use of case management to negotiate care systems; the need for a range of supportive housing and treatment
options that are responsive to consumer preference and the importance of meaningful daily activity. New Vision Organization, Inc.
proposes to address the lack of diverse, comprehensive and integrated systems of care for the ex incarcerated and the incarcerated
prison population suffering from mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in these target areas.
