"My Shadows of Darkness" by Preston G. Demouchette, Jr.

As the shadows of darkness casts upon the moonlight, ...
There are moments of love I cannot forget.....
Enclosed in a cell, placed by steel.....
Tensions and anxieties are just plain hell....
Shouts of rebellion are flashing through my minds,
telling myself, I am not the kind, to misuse
society, or to harm my fellow - man, on the mislead
crime in a well-laid plan....
Shackles are at my ankles, my hands are in a task,
a Louisiana- wrist watch; a band of steel, is
placed so tight! I can hardly feel!
So, here I am with years to go! And how I'll make it
I'll never know? But I'm hoping, Babe,
you would wait; but eventually your love will turn to hate;
then I'll let you know that I'll understand!
If you  should find you another and give him your hand.
My love for you simply has no ending!
If I can't have your love; may I be your friend?
