shooting in 1993. This tragedy happened one year after the completion of his four year college term and at a
time when he was severely depressed. He had been dating, for several months, a girl that he had met at his place
of employment during Spring and Summer break. "My son was a Security Guard and Bouncer at a club on Cape
Cod and the girl and her girlfriend had gone to that club a few times".
After they had been dating for several months, he felt that he had found someone whom he could trust and confide
in about his childhood abuse. This was a pain that he had kept inside for over sixteen years. However, his
honesty only led to more pain for him, as she thought is was humorous and he later found out that she, too, had
deceived him. She ultimately walked out on him for another man. She called him two months later to tell him how
much her family liked this man, although they had refused to meet John in the eleven months they had dated
( race related).

accepting calls from his friends. He went into severe depression. 10 months later, someone was fatally shot, as a
result, and John had left the country.
This was John's first offense. He had no prior criminal history. Never involved with drugs or alcohol. Never
smoked. He had an excellent reputation. Well-liked by his teachers and employers, family and friends.
The Psychiatrist in court stated that John had been suffering from ' Depressive Episode with Psychotic Behavior'
which led up to the night of the crime. Many people were aware prior to the crime, that John was severely
depressed and it was confirmed in court. The Attorney that represented John is no longer practicing law, due to
his illegal acts of obtaining finances that did not belong to him.
