| We must become unstoppable! The system, our society lives in, works like this: Knowledge is power!! But money makes the world go round!! When you want to control the majority of a nation (--> the system), you need to hide (negative) facts about yourself from the public. The media is very, very powerful. The mainstream media controls the market and feeds the population with information. There are many different ways to express and describe facts and news. What the news broadcast each day is supposed to be true, right? So, US citizens believe what the government wants them to "know". There are not enough citizens, who are critical. They "eat" what they get daily, and the vicious circle starts right there: Following the mainstream media you are taught many, many prejudices and hypocrisy like: Coloured people are not educated and simply criminals! Only guilty people are in prison! We support and help the poor worldwide! Join the military and your future is safe! God bless America and our troups! America represents liberty, equality and democracy! You feel me? ...When you raise your voice and claim that many things go wrong in the States, you are considered unpatriotic and this is almost the worst that can happen to an US American. Yet, you are not unpatriotic, but critical and since you have knowledge and stand up for what is right and just, you are a "troublemaker". You can read in history books what the US government does with so called "troublemakers". So, I think you understand. When we want to make a difference, we need to be ONE and we also need to be MANY. I can't stress it enough. Teamwork is very important!! It will not be easy to unite all of us, who basically aim the same, but we should do our best to convince people. A mass-movement is what we need. It does not help much, when one organization does this and another organization that and never collaborate!! Sure, each organization, association, community or group, of course, makes its own thing, but additonally all of us must collaborate as ONE. Then, and only then our voices will be heard in the public. Then our voices are louder than tv or radio. There are more than 2 million people incarcerated in the States. Most of them are poor and can't afford a proper defense attorney, because if they did, they would not be in prison. When you are rich as O.J. Simpson, you are a free man out there in the splitted society of America. And the beat goes on.... The abolitionists among you will know Gary Graham's (aka Shaka Sankofa) last statement (2000). I admire him for the strength in the last moments of his life. I want to use his powerful message to the world to reach you, each of you. It is not just about abolishing the death penalty, and it is not just about black people, it is about JUSTICE. There are not only innocents on death row, there are innocents everywhere behind bars. Shaka Sankofa said: “I would like to say that I did not kill Bobby Lambert. That I'm an innocent black man that is being murdered. This is a lynching that is happening in America tonight. There's overwhelming and compelling evidence of my defense that has never been heard in any court of America. What is happening here is an outrage for any civilized country to anybody anywhere to look at what's happening here is wrong. [….] We must continue to move forward and do everything we can to outlaw legal lynching in America. We must continue to stay strong all around the world, and people must come together to stop the systematic killing of poor and innocent black people. We must continue to stand together in unity and to demand a moratorium on all executions. We must not let this murder/lynching be forgotten tonight, my brothers. We must take it to t he nation. We must keep our faith. We must go forward. We recognize that many leaders have died. Malcom X, Martin Luther King, and others who stood up for what was right. They stood up for what was just. [….] You must carry on that condition. What is here is just a lynching that is taking place. But they're going to keep on lynching us for the next 100 years, if you do not carry on that tradition, and that period of resistance. We will prevail. We may loose this battle, but we will win the war. [….] Get all the video tapes of all the beatings. They have beat me up in the back. They have beat me up at the unit over there. Get all the video tapes supporting that law suit. And make the public exposed to the genocide and this brutality world, and let the world see what is really happening here behind closed doors. Let the world see the barbarity and injustice of what is really happening here. You must get those video tapes. You must make it exposed, this injustice, to the world. [… .] This is genocide in America. This is what happens to black men when they stand up and protest for what is right and just. [….]You can kill a revolutionary, but you cannot stop the revolution. The revolution will go on. The people will carry the revolution on. You are the people that must carry that revolution on, in order to liberate our children from this genocide and for what is happening here in America tonight. [....] Push forward people. And know that what ya'll are doing is right. What ya'll are doing is just. [….] Nothing more than state sanctioned murders, state sanctioned lynching, right here in America, and right here tonight. [….] They know I'm innocent. They've got the facts to prove it. They know I'm innocent. But they cannot acknowledge my innocence, because to do so would be to publicly admit their guilt. This is something these racist people will never do. We must remember brothers, this is what we're faced with. You mu st take this endeavor forward. You must stay strong. You must continue to hold your heads up, and to be there. And I love you, too, my brother. All of you who are standing with me in solidarity. We will prevail. We will keep marching. Keep marching [....]" We must know how the evil system works. It is time to expose it. We must do it TOGETHER. A few voices are not taken seriously. While exposing, we are convincing others and our movement will become bigger, louder and stronger. We must become unstoppable!! Please, let as many people as possible know of our yahoo-group “Innocent-in-Prison” and follow Shaka Sankofa’s last will. Let's build bridges, let's get together and then fight TOGETHER, please!!! Make copies of this letter and pass them on.Tell your supporters, friends, family and comrades to join our egroup and to spread our all word. Let’s use this forum/group as a platform of communication. Add your website(s) to the list of links (if not yet added)! Let’s link to each other and become a huge network of effective activists!!
