In the days of youth, We'd been admonished by our parental Adams and our maternal Eves not to eat of trees from foreign cultures lest our lives be doomed with a curse and at first we obeyed and stayed at bay but eventually there arose that day when our desire and our thirst for adventure exploded the warnings and the teachings eroded and we stole into the forbidden gardens.
She was conscious because the tree was luxurious and the fruit as dark as soot the fragrance hypnotically entrancing so she plucked one and ate and the sweetness of the juice was so great that she took another and another until the taste became addictive and though her culture frowns she bears witness that the tree is not the evil as they claim so she roams the foreign gardens with no shame.
He was curious because he never understood how the pretty white fruit of the fancy neighborhoods would make him sick so he plucked one and bit the taste was delicious no bitterness just bliss as he feasted with a smile on the branch where he sat in his heart he'd resolved that he'd never go back to the garden of his culture for he'd fallen in love like a drug he couldn't live without its thrill.
As one in the brilliance of the sun they planted a new tree together so society could see its merging beauty his fruit and her own blended she would nourish it and he would defend it to the death and the root grew mighty the garden was kept it flourished now it's highly applauded for society took a taste yet there's those who still hate to take a bite so they fight the desire that lies hidden for that which they've deemed forbidden.
